B2B platform on Magento with dedicated solutions

What was our task?

Our Partner, the Wialan brand, came to us with a specific challenge: the
company needed to create a B2B platform. Since Wialan
has numerous business clients, this was a necessary move to
improve communication and purchasing processes.

Initial goals

  1. We started with an audit and pre-implementation analysis to obtain all
    the information we always need to implement the project.
  2. We conducted workshops with the Wialan team to define the scope of work and expectations of our Partner and to develop a common vision for the implementation of tasks. Wialan expected personalized solutions dedicated to their needs.
  3. We have updated Magento from version 2.4.5-p5 to ensure that the platform is at the highest level of security. We have extended the existing integration with ERP on the B2C platform with additional functions responsible for handling data for B2B.

How did we manage to achieve this?

We focused on the requirements of our Partner, who had specific expectations regarding the B2B platform – however, they required us to prepare original, dedicated solutions. What solutions have we implemented?

  1. A solution that introduces a hierarchy of contractors in a formula where the parent contractor can manage accounts assigned to his company. The hierarchy of contractors comes to Magento from ERP, so it was very important to properly prepare the integration so that data about parent and child contractors is sent and displayed correctly.. This was necessary not only for this functionality, but for the proper operation of the entire platform.
  2. Individual price lists, which involve assigning appropriate prices for product groups per contractor, and the functionality allows you to block selected product groups for a selected contractor.
  3. Developing the functionality of request for quotation, which is a standard option for B2B platforms, but Wialan expected personalization, e.g. creating the possibility of editing offers by the account manager.
  4. The function of suggesting collective packaging, which consists in recommending the purchase of a specific quantity of a product to that already in the basket, in order to promote the purchase of entire packages.
  5. Possibility to set the logistic minimum for each contractor individually.
  6. Functionality informing the contractor about arrears, thanks to which the contractor has the opportunity to place an order, which, however, will not be completed until the liabilities are settled, about which the contractor is automatically informed.
  7. Dual authorization for customers. aimed at securing the platform and the ability to control access to the company account by parent contractors or administrators of the company account in Magento.

We implemented a safe, fast and well-functioning personalized B2B platform on Magento 2.4.5 in only 5 months. Wialan’s customers now have constant access to the current product database, the ability to conveniently place current orders, full transaction history, the ability to create and monitor online complaints, and easy and quick access to promotions and information.
