Full implementation of Magento 2.4.4 on PWA technology before the deadline

What was our task?

Our business partner came to us with a challenge: full implementation of an e-shop with children’s products on the Magento platform, ready before the start of the school year. It was supposed to be an extensive multibrand that would combine the possibility of purchasing products of various brands in one place. We had over 6 months to complete this task so that promotional campaigns could coincide with the start of the new school year.

Initial goals

Build for our Partner, CDRL SA, a multibrand mokida.com on the Magento platform, which will be ready for end customers before September 1, which will allow marketing campaigns to be launched at the beginning of the school year. Provide our Partner with an efficiently operating mokida.com e-shop, built on the most efficient and modern technology.

How did we manage to achieve this?

  1. We wanted our Partner’s multibrand to be as efficient as possible and based on the latest technology, which is why we recommended PWA, i.e. Progressive Web App. We knew that moving away from the traditional frontend to a progressive application would improve efficiency, speed of the store and be more user-friendly.
  2. We decided to implement Multibrand Mokida on Adobe Commerce version 2.4.4 – it was the most up-to-date version at the time of implementation, so its selection will allow us to reduce technological debt as much as possible. We built the infrastructure on the reliable AWS, with which we also cooperate on other projects. Here’s why: click.
  3. When integrating the mokida.com store with suppliers (DPD, InPost, Poczta Polska), we used our own solutions, including: maps and aggregators with delivery points.
  4. We have also integrated with the Akeneo PIM system, thanks to which our Partner can conveniently manage product information and analyze data quality. PIM is an important element in the e-commerce puzzle – receiving raw data from ERP, it enables their simple processing and enrichment. It allows you to work on content without having to enter the administration panel of the e-commerce platform, and centralizes product data that is directed directly to e-commerce platforms, but also to advertisements or other marketing materials.
  5. We have integrated the e-commerce platform with Adyen – a comprehensive payment platform, thanks to which our Partner will not only be able to process payments effectively, but also easily add new functionalities and develop their business on international markets. Our Partner needed it to be able to develop multibrand with new payment functionalities in the future, both on the current Polish market and in other European countries.
  6. To make the implementation as quick as possible from the perspective of our Partner and in the most comfortable conditions possible for us, we relied on the experience and technological resources of another project of the same client, i.e. Coccodrillo. Additionally, we have integrated the mokida.com store with the ERP system of the Coccodrillo store. For mokida.com, we also used the same solution as for Coccodrillo, i.e. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  7. The project was tailor-made, in line with all the needs of our Partner, whom we fully and constantly supported in improving the store mock-ups, tailored in terms of User Experience – we wanted to achieve the maximum quality of the project and support our Partner at every level of implementation, hence we got involved wherever we could use our experience.
  8. We devoted a lot of work to this stage of the purchasing process, wanting it to be as easy to use as possible for the end customer.
  9. We continue to develop and improve details in store design and User Experience.
  10. Implementation is not everything. We always make sure that our business partners have substantive support when they start a new project. This was also the case this time, which is why we offered the Mokida team extensive post-implementation support and a number of substantive trainings that were intended to help the client confidently navigate the new technology. Considering ourselves partners in this project, we wanted to have a common goal, which was an efficient, profitable e-store in which the mokida.com team can move comfortably.

Szymon Przybyła

Head of Operations mokida.com

Short implementation time, new technology, new multi-brand concept – everything was against us, but we managed to complete the project on time.

We hope that our new customers will like Mokida. We are also very pleased with the introduction of the new PIM tool, which will enable us to manage products effectively. Thanks to the substantive support of Fast White Cat, we also feel ready to expand our operations on foreign markets.

At the start of the Mokida project, we received mock-ups prepared by our client’s team.

We are very glad that he was open to all our suggestions and ideas. Based on our experience, we jointly developed solutions that met the needs of end users, which remained consistent with the client’s vision and, equally important, did not exceed the originally planned project budget.
