We opened FAKRO for e-commerce

What was our task?

Creation of a new FAKRO e-commerce platform, which will introduce the brand to six European markets: Poland, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Germany and Austria and, thanks to its modern, consistent appearance, will present FAKRO’s offer in an attractive way.

Initial goals

  1. As many as 8 Fast White Cat developers worked on the project. During the work, this team was expanded by another 7 people who performed advisory functions and shared their expert knowledge.
  2. At first, we created a Polish version of the website, then a copy and translations for individual European markets. The Italian mask required the most customization, due to the fact that the local market has its own unique rules.
  3. We implemented the project together with the Fakro development team, which helped us develop a common perspective on this implementation.
  4. The store is based on PWA technology – adapted to customers who prefer to shop via their smartphone.
  5. We have implemented integration with the Pimcore and Erpem platforms so that all Fakro stores work efficiently. In this task, we cooperated closely with a team of developers from Fakro, who supported us with their experience, commitment and professional approach to implementation. We managed to create a comfortable working environment in which the exchange of knowledge was the path to the goal – implementation.

How did we manage to achieve this?

We have introduced educational functions in the selection of products. Now, in Fakro e-shops, when shopping, customers receive suggestions on what else should be added to the cart so that the purchased products fully fulfill their function and allow for complete assembly.

  1. We have implemented a convenient SuperTrio FAKRO promotion. The page for a given product now displays suggestions for two other recommended products, from which the customer can make a set and buy them cheaper.
  2. We have saved a significant amount of space. Files with technical specifications are separated outside the Magento system and therefore we do not have to duplicate these materials on servers.
  3. We have improved informing the customer about the shipping date. We have implemented automatic updating of the shipping date visible on the website when shopping. Now, when the customer selects a different product variant – changes its color or size – the shipping date will be updated in accordance with the stock levels and estimated delivery date.
  4. We have organized the returns processes. We moved them to Magento, which makes them easier to manage now.
  5. We have introduced the ability to choose the color of the product and view it in the selected color variant before purchasing. Now, when deciding on a given product, the customer can immediately see its wide range of colors and compare it in different versions.

FAKRO always focuses on modern solutions not only in products, but also in other areas of activity.

This is particularly visible in marketing, where FAKRO’s activities already use virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), e-learning platform and applications. Now is the right time for changes in e-commerce.

The recent period has shown that customers expect easy access to product information and the possibility of purchasing online. New trends coincided with our requirements, so we decided to prepare an online store in cooperation with an experienced partner. The project was very ambitious, because the store was immediately prepared for six European countries.

Each store offers a unique range of products, and navigating through them is intuitive. The whole thing was designed with modern graphics, and the PWA technology used allows for comfortable use of the store on mobile devices. The store is based on a solution that enables continuous development, hence we already have plans for new functionalities and implementing the store in other countries. The development of e-commerceis only the beginning of other projects that are supposed to support each other…

The project with Fakro was special to us for two reasons.

First of all, we are always happy when we can support our Partner in development, and this was definitely the case this time: Fakro is opening up to Europe and together we have met the challenge of implementing as many as six sales platforms for six countries, and in the construction industry, which is a new field for us. focus.

Secondly – for the first time, as an e-commerce House, we had the opportunity to cooperate so closely with developers on our Partner’s side, which resulted in the creation of a professional business environment where we exchanged knowledge, experiences and strived for one goal. Such cooperation turned out to be very motivating and, most importantly, effective!

Of course! We plan to implement stores in additional European markets at the beginning of next year. Because development is the goal of every action for us.
